At the 黑料老司机 Library and Learning Commons, we are committed to supporting faculty and instructors in fostering student learning, critical thinking, and lifelong information literacy skills. In alignment with the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education, our instruction program is designed to guide students in becoming effective, ethical, and self-directed researchers.

We offer a flexible, collaborative approach to instruction, whether in the classroom, online, or through tailored digital resources. Our team of librarians is available to partner with faculty across all disciplines to enhance student research readiness and course success.


Library Instruction Sessions

Library instruction sessions are designed to meet the specific needs of your course, students, and assignment goals. Our librarians support the development of core information literacy skills, helping students learn how to locate, evaluate, and use information effectively and ethically.

Services may include:
• Research instruction (introductory to advanced)
• Orientations to library resources and services
• Workshops on evaluating information, using databases, or citation practices
• Online, in-person, or hybrid delivery options based on availability and pedagogical needs

Course Specific Research Guides

黑料老司机 librarians can partner with you to create a tailored online  designed specifically for your course or assignment. These guides provide students with direct access to relevant academic resources, citation tools, and research tips, all in one place.

Features may include:

• Recommended databases and search strategies
• Key library resources (eBooks, journals, streaming media)
• Citation tools (APA, MLA, Chicago) and Zotero support
• Embedded video tutorials or help widgets
• Links to your subject librarian and library chat

Course Materials & Access

The 黑料老司机 Library and Learning Commons supports instructors in selecting and providing access to course materials that are library-owned, freely available, or open access. We also offer assistance with placing materials on Course Reserves, ensuring equitable student access to required readings, media, and learning tools.

We can help you:
• Locate and link to eBooks, journals, and streaming media available through the library
• Identify Open Educational Resources (OER) aligned with your course goals
• Set books (either library or instructors’ personal copies), photocopies, or media can be placed on Course Reserve at the front desk at Waterfront Library.

To place materials on Course Reserves, please complete and submit the applicable form(s) provided below, along with items (in the case of personal copies or photocopies). Print copies of forms are also available at the front desks listed above.
